Public rooms

Public rooms are sometimes exposed to spam and other unwanted content. Therefore, it is important that rooms are moderated.

Draupnir

One way to make moderation easier is to use the moderation bot Draupnir. An instance of this is installed at KIT and currently follows two guidelines to exclude conspicuous users:

• #community-moderation-effort-bl:neko.dev: A well-known and collaborative policy of various moderators in the Matrix ecosystem. This includes automated spam, crypto advertising, unwanted images, and more.
• #code-of-conduct-ban-list:kit.edu: Reports received by the administrators of the KIT Matrix server.

To use this bot in your rooms, you must first invite @mjolnir:kit.edu and then send a message to the administrators of the KIT Matrix server stating that you would like to use the bot in your room. Please mention the room ID when doing so.
